Technical Regulation

The URA is mandated as per the URA Act 2005 to conduct Technical Regulations so as to continually improves electricity supply services in terms of quality, safety and reliability. More explicitly, Technical Regulations shall comprise of the following activities:

 

1. Development, promulgation and implementation of technical regulatory tools including codes and regulations

2. Monitoring of power quality at the level of generation, transmission and distribution

3. Conductingtechnical compliance audit and KPI’s monitoring

4. Asset auditing & verification

5. Handling of customer complaints and accident/incidentinvestigation

6. Promotion of renewable energy and innovation in the electricity business
